What is the environment like at Dr. Fenn's office?
our comfort is always our utmost concern. You will find our reception room well stocked with current magazines, a lightly scented candle burning and a basket of items that interest young children. We always have soothing music playing throughout the office as well as a selection of CD's for your listening pleasure while services are being rendered. We also offer satellite T.V. for some procedures. You may further relax by using a massage pad that is on our treatment chairs. At the completion of your appointment, you may choose from fresh apples, a variety of snacks, chilled bottled water and fruit juices. Our younger patients love to choose a prize from our Treasure Tower.

We want your experience here to be positive, and different from those old feelings of “dentist office anxiety.” Each time you come in to see us, you'll feel more like a member of our family—that's because you are!

Can you tell me more about your professional dental team?
e are your caring professional dental team that treats you just like family. As dentistry and oral health care professionals, we strive to stay informed and educated about techniques and scientific advances occurring in the world of dentistry. It is the commitment of each member of our staff that your visits and follow-up experiences in our office will be comfortable, pleasant, and informative.

What is aesthetic or cosmetic dentistry?
esthetic, or cosmetic dentistry is the art and science of restoring and enhancing diseased, broken or mal-positioned teeth to their optimal beauty and function. We can brighten teeth, lengthen them, straighten and align them, repair them, and in general, enhance your face's smile zone so you have the attractive and confident appearance you desire.

What is bonding?
onding is a general term that refers to our ability to bond composite resin materials, and porcelain restorations tightly to tooth structure. Instead of depending on dental cements to hold the crown on, we actually laminate materials to the teeth, which greatly enhances their strength and fracture resistance.

What are porcelain veneers?
orcelain veneers are very thin shields that are bonded to the tooth. A veneer is shaped and contoured to the treated tooth to eliminate crookedness, gaps, and irregular, broken or worn down teeth. Veneers are a great way to beautify unattractive teeth while conserving natural tooth structure. The porcelain material used in veneers has a glass surface that doesn't stain or discolor. The process of bonding or laminating the veneer to the tooth offers a great degree of strength and durability. Click on our Smiles Link to see examples of this exciting treatment option.

Whose smile can be enhanced?
he quick answer is anyone's. The degree of smile enhancement can range from one to many teeth. We may suggest something as simple as lightening the shade of your teeth or we may recommend other techniques or procedures for your teeth suited to you individually.

Do you provide other dental services besides smile enhancement?
e provide care for all dental problems for all ages, from toddlers to the elderly and all in between! Our desire and commitment to provide only the best and most modern restorations and materials for our patients guide us in treating you as we would our own family members. Non-metallic crowns, partial and full dentures, tooth colored fillings, periodontal care, and preventive education are just some of the many services we provide every day, and always with a gentle touch.

Should old silver fillings be replaced?
eplacing old broken down mercury/silver fillings with new, durable, attractive non-metallic restorations is the foundation of our practice. Frankly, we find silver/mercury fillings ugly and damaging to tooth structure. Over time, these fillings act like small wedges in the teeth to create recurrent decay and fracture teeth. We are so excited to be able to provide 21st Century type restorations to replace these antiquated destructive ones.

How do you preserve tooth structure and why is it important?
n the past, teeth were ground down, or prepared, aggressively for mercury/silver fillings or porcelain fused to metal crowns. This left minimal tooth structure for future use should the restoration fail. By using “adhesive” principles, we can repair only the damaged parts of the teeth and "bank" tooth structure for the future. We're proud and gratified to see our “adhesively restored” teeth now 10 to 15 years later holding up beautifully.

What kind of payment options do you offer?
e accept most dental insurance (indemnity plans) and will help you determine your optimal benefits by thorough treatment planning and we are happy to file claims on your behalf. We offer smart, affordable payment plans that should meet your needs, including interest-free options.
